Residents ask Channel 11 for help after 6 water line breaks so far this year

BUTLER TOWNSHIP, Pa. — Butler Township residents say there have been six water line breaks on the same road since the end of January.

They are fed up and asked Channel 11 for help with what they say has been happening on Shady Avenue.

Cara Geibel told only Channel 11 she is sick and tired of the water line breaks.

“The road is ripped up, there’s water all over the place, it ices up,” she said.

She says every time it breaks, she loses water to her home for hours.

“It’s no fun not to have any water, especially when you’re pregnant,” she said.

Channel 11 called Pennsylvania American Water, and the company said that, because of the numerous breaks to the 2-inch line, it has moved this project up to Thursday and made a permanent fix a priority.

“It’s just a mess out here,” Geibel said.
